The Family Ministry team at Christ Lutheran Church provides opportunities to grow in faith through Sunday School classes, our Stepping Stones program, age-specific & family-friendly events, Wednesdays Together, serving our community and much more. As parents, there is nothing more important that we can give our children than the gift of faith. We look forward to walking together with you and your family!
PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY MINISTRIES
Staff Contact: Rachel Dyer or Kristen Rank
For our youngest ones, there are 2 age groups: our Preschool Ministry covers birth through age four (or TK), while the Elementary School Ministry covers Kindergarten through 5th grade. Nursery is available on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for infants through 36 months (under age 3).
On Sundays during the school year, and prior to the start of the sermon, children ages 3 through 2nd grade are invited to join our children's message, which includes an activity and watching the newest episode of ChristKidsTV. Christ-centered books & activities are also available outside of the sanctuary doors to help children stay connected while in worship. Sunday classes are available for ages 3 through 5th grade.
On Wednesday evenings during the school year, there are classes and activities geared for all ages. Preschoolers can enjoy things like music classes, arts & crafts and open play while parents are in their adult classes. K-5th children can get involved in choirs or liturgical dance groups that periodically perform in Sunday worship services: Grace Choir/Dance is for K-2nd; Faith Choir/Dance is for 3rd-5th. For current schedule, see 'Helpful Links' below.
Summer opportunities include Vacation Bible School for ages 4- 4th grade. Spotlight Drama Camp, where kids in rising 3rd-5th grades audition for parts, practice all week, and perform on stage at the end of the week for families and guests!
YOUTH MINISTRY
Staff Contact: Tyler Weller or Natalya Legvold
The youth ministry at Christ Lutheran comprises both middle school (grades 6-8) and high school students. While both age groups are part of our Youth Ministry, events are typically separated by age group.
Our middle school youth is heavily involved in all things Confirmation. Through Sunday classes during the school year, retreats and various Stepping Stones events, your middle schooler will learn exactly what Confirmation means, including how to be an official voting member of CLC. The official Confirmation ceremony typically happens near the beginning of their 9th grade year.
On Wednesday evenings, middle school students can get involved in classes such as liturgical dance, bible studies, games, fellowship and music classes. Remember to check 'Helpful Links' below for the current schedule. High school students can choose from Pit Unplugged! or Peer Ministry.
THE XPERIENCE
Staff Contact: Bill Porter or Shelby Johns
On Sunday afternoons during the school year, high school youth can be involved in one of our most popular youth programs called The Xperience. A worship-arts-production group designed to utilize the talents of everyone, your teenager could get involved in aspects of singing, drama, dance, band/orchestra music, worship technology, lighting, sound, graphic design and more! The Xperience plans all aspects of a stage show from start to finish, and each summer ends with a national, week-long tour with a unique theme. If interested in next summer's tour (or you just want to learn more), please click one of the email links above or fill out our contact form.
