Come and hang out with other families of Christ Lutheran and deepen your relationship and the relationship of our children. 

Out and About is not an exclusive group. Anyone can come but the events and activities will be geared to families with children. 

As a pastor it is clear that our relationships have a large part to play in our spiritual journeys. That’s why the Holy Spirit formed the Church; we are not meant to be alone. We are meant to share our lives with other Christians. When we do that, naturally, our children will share their lives. As formation goes there is no better way to instill in our children what we want than by modeling it.

The first meeting of Out and About will be in front of Moxie Mercantile at 159 N. Trade St. We will watch the parade and take in the sites of Matthews Alive. Come and go at your leisure. If you have older kids who want to hang around you can do that. If you have little ones that need a nap, let it be. 

In a few weeks (Sept. 21st) we will all meet again for a picnic. We can layout blankets and let the kids run wild. 

These moments of fellowship can seem trite or minimal. In a sense they are. In the same way a brick is nothing special. Yet, over time and with enough bricks one can lay a firm foundation from which to launch a faith, or craft a bulwark to endure whatever is thrown at it. Out and About, Wednesday’s Ablaze, and Sunday School are the bricks of a spiritual life. Together we, empowered by the Holy Spirit, are building up our children and ourselves.
