Joining God at Work: It Begins with a Glimpse

Joining God at Work: It Begins with a Glimpse

Pastor Scott - February 9, 2026

It doesn’t happen very often, but periodically we get a glimpse of God at work. To be sure, God is always at work around us, but sometimes we need to fine tune our eyes and hearts to see and feel God at work.

Why is this so important?

Most of the time we decide what we would like to do and then pray for God to bless our decisions. That’s backwards. We need to catch glimpses of God already at work and then join God.

What does a glimpse look like?

When God put that person in our heart and we reach out at just the right time when they needed a friend.

When God opens and closes doors in ways only God could orchestrate.

When we are struggling with a direction, and at that moment we have a handful of trusted believers confirm or redirect our efforts.

When God places something on our hearts that aligns with scriptures, and provides the resources to make it happen.

This Sunday, we will hear the story of the Transfiguration of Jesus in which he is transformed alongside Moses and Elijah. Peter, James, and John are also present and receive a (huge) glimpse of what God is doing in revealing how Jesus is the fulfillment of both the Law and the Prophets. This glimpse changes these three disciples forever.

Open your eyes, warm your heart and experience God at work with a glimpse of his plan and direction for you. And if you see that at Christ Lutheran, reach out to me so that we can share this glimpse and discern what God is calling us to do and be.

Peace,
Pastor Scott
