Wednesdays Together

Wednesdays Together

- August 28, 2018

Worship on Sunday is such a great time for refilling my spiritual cup and getting to see my church family. I feel this connection with God and with my faith community. This helps me make it through a week of life. During the school year especially I feel like I’m running all the time: running to get the kids ready for school; running to go to work; running to get dinner on the table; running to do laundry and pay bills and clean the house. Sometimes I need a spiritual renewal during the week as well! This week we start Wednesdays Together!! Wednesday is one of my favorite days of the week because I don’t have to make dinner!! But it’s more than just not cooking; it’s a time a refreshment. I get to be with my family at dinner at church. Then, we go in different directions for choirs, dance and Bible study. Of course, I get to hang out with my favorite group-- the Middle Schoolers at Light the Fire! Wednesdays Together is the time during the work where we can come back together and get renewed and refreshed for the rest of the week. This is also a time to reconnect with friends in small groups. We are starting Wednesdays Together at Christ Concord on September 5th. At Concord it will be a time to get together for faith formation and growing in a community. Christ South is exploring what Wednesdays Together would look like in the South! We’ll explore that through a few Wednesday gatherings throughout the fall. Fellowship is an important part of who we are as a community in Christ. Community is where our faith is first demonstrated and shared. Community is where God uses the hands of others to be the hands of God in the world. Community is what supports us through the good and the bad times. So, come out tomorrow and live in the community of Christ Lutheran at Wednesdays Together!! Prayer: God of all, we ask your blessing on the beginning of our ministry of Wednesdays Together. Bless our time together. Strengthen our community and move among us. AMEN. Pastor Melody 1 John 1:7 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) 7 but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
