Renewal: An Update

Renewal: An Update

Pastor Scott - October 28, 2024

Christ Lutheran has always been so responsive and generous in their donations and giving. When we asked for donations of food for Nourish Up (formerly Loaves and Fishes) there were over 300 bags of groceries, totally 2,888 pounds! The most we have ever received. Thank you!

When we asked for donations for young moms and children who were displaced from Western North Carolina after the hurricane, you overwhelmed Novant Matthews Hospital with three large van loads that will serve 18 families for a month. Thank you.

When we asked for your Intention Cards to be given either in person or online by October 27, once again you’ve shown how generous and committed you are to the mission and ministries of Christ Lutheran. So far we have received 236 Intention Cards for a total of $1,483,562, which makes the average intention about $6,286.

We typically receive about 400 Intention Cards each year, so we have some work to do to receive even more cards. What we do know is that from these cards, people generally complete about 102% of their amount by year end. That’s incredible!

The Finance Team takes these cards seriously as they prepare a budget for the church. We don’t guess an amount; we don’t put in a faith factor. We take you at your word, and your word is always good.

With this blog, I want to thank you first of all, but also encourage you if you haven’t completed your Intention Card. You can still do that several ways:

  1. Place the card in the offering plate on Sunday
  2. Mail your card to the church office.
  3. Email directly to Gwen at gzuendel@christelca.org
  4. Or complete your intention online with HERE

Thanks again for your generosity, your support and your commitment to God’s work. This is less about raising money to fund a budget and more about a congregational RENEWAL.

Let the Spirit blow wildly!

Peace
