Serving & Caring

Serving Those Inside Our Walls

We hope everyone feels welcome when they first enter our parking lot, or when they call on the phone... when they explore our website or walk into the sanctuary on Sunday mornings... or even when they encounter a member of Christ Lutheran in the community.

WELCOME MINISTRY

Staff Contact: Kathy Hofmann or Mary Parker

Our Welcome Ministry is comprised of Ushers, Greeters, Information Desk volunteers and our Welcome Table Ministry. Ushers serve on a rotating basis at each of our services and help with passing around the offering plate and serving communion. Greeters welcome guests and answer general questions as they arrive and leave our campuses. Our Information Desk and Welcome Table each provide general information and are a friendly contact for first-time and returning guests. Volunteers help to share information about getting around campus, New Member classes, upcoming events and more.

CARING MINISTRY

Staff Contact: Mary Parker

Christ Lutheran's Caring Ministry offers a helping hand in times of personal hardship or struggle in the lives of our members and their families. If you'd like to volunteer in one of our Caring Ministries, you could join the Care Team to offer personal encouragement, provide transportation or offer prayer for those in need. Our Bereavement Team prepares and serves food for funeral/memorial receptions. Prayer Partners pray with people who ask for prayer at the end of worship services. Home Communion ministers visit with & serve Communion to our homebound members. If your passion lies with helping other members of Christ Lutheran, please consider joining one of our Caring Ministries.

FAMILY MINISTRY SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

Staff Contact: Adrienne Martin

Family Ministry always needs volunteers! Middle & high school youth can assist as acolytes during traditional worship; high schoolers can be a helping hand on Sunday mornings as a Steward. Both of these can help youth earn hours towards confirmation requirements or service hours for school.

On Sundays, adults can volunteer to be a Sunday School teacher for elementary through high school classes. Not only is the days' curriculum prepared and ready to go, but the kids will have a chance to learn about and donate to various service projects throughout the year. In the nursery, youth can volunteer to help take care of the littlest ones while parents are attending a class or worship service.

MUSIC, TECH & DRAMA SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

Staff Contact: Mark Johanson

Generally speaking, volunteers are always wanted and welcome to help within Christ Lutheran's Music & Arts ministry. This includes things like singing in a choir, playing in a musical ensemble, operating one of our cameras on a Sunday morning (and even helping up in the sound booth). Some general music/tech knowledge is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
