Welcome, Connect, Equip & Send

Sunday Mornings

Sunday School is at 10 a.m. and is focused on youth being grounded in Christ, scripture and Lutheran insights through their week at school, at home and with their friends.  They will learn to live out their faith in ways that are real, practical and relevant.

Curriculum: The curriculum being used for Middle School is from Chameleon Stripe Ministries.  The words Chameleon Stripe represent the two focal points of this ministry.  A chameleon is an animal that can adapt to any situation without changing what it is.  That is a lot like youth ministry.  Leaders must continually adapt an unchanging message  so that an ever changing audience can understand it, without ever compromising the message itself.  Stripe refers to Isaiah 53:5, where the prophet comforts us in the knowledge that we are healed by Jesus' stripes, or wounds.  That is the core of the message that we teach our students.  When Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross, he won the victory over death for us, and by grace through faith promises us healing and the gift of eternal life.

This curriculum also echos the words of the Apostles Creed, and in addition it stresses the infallible authority of Scripture and all that it teaches.
Finally, this year we will be using this curriculum to compliment the year long sermon series that will walk the congregation through the entire Bible (from Genesis to Revelations)

6th Graders:  All 6th grade youth will begin the year meeting in The Crossing (formerly Youth House #2).  This will enable them to engage in fellowship, learn with other kids their age and allow them an easy transition into Middle School.  They will join together for announcements and prayer and then break up into smaller groups for teaching time.

7th and 8th Graders:  All 7th and 8th grade youth will be meeting in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings.  Students meet as a large group for announcements, prayer and teaching time.  Small groups will then have time for discussion and sharing with their small group leaders.
